SHIATSU WORKSHOPS
Shiatsu is traditional Japanese massage therapy.
It is used to
improve the flow of vital life energy (Chi) in the body. Shiatsu
helps prevent illness, build vitality, balance the mind,
and stimulate the body's natural healing ability.
Brenda uses this elegant healing system by combining hand pressure
and gentle muscle manipulation to alleviate headaches, tension,
pain, and a wide range of chronic discomforts and minor ailments.
No needles are ever used.
In Japan and around the world, it is a highly respected form of
healing rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
Currently it is accepted by the Japanese Ministry of Health and
Welfare as an authorized health treatment.

Shiatsu is an oriental therapeutic form of massage
based on the acupressure system of points and meridians. It is the
most well known form of acupressure. The Japanese word for Shiatsu
is composed of "shi" meaning finger and "atsu"
meaning pressure. This ancient healing art acknowledges that body,
mind and spirit are a unified whole, and that touching another being
is more than a purely physical act. Our program recognizes
that shiatsu is much more than a modality. It is a lifestyle
which integrates self-care and awareness through diet, movement
and meditation.
This stellar 500 hour diploma program blends the
theory of Worsley's Five Elements, Shiatsu, Chinese acupuncture
theory, energy work and the practice of self awareness. Part-time
schedule allows time for work & family. Class size is
limited to 8 students for personal attention. It is the pre-requisite
for the Shiatsu Therapist Training Program. Our graduates
become skilled and knowledgeable shiatsu practitioners of this ancient
and effective healing art.
